Generative AI & LLM Usage Policy

Principles governing the ethical and transparent use of artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation.

1. AI Cannot Be Listed as an Author

Generative artificial intelligence models (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) cannot be listed as an author or co-author on any submission. Authorship carries legal and academic accountability for the integrity, validity, and ethics of the work—responsibilities that cannot be assumed by software.

2. Mandatory Author Disclosure

If generative AI tools were employed to assist in drafting text, generating code, visualizing models, or refining grammar:

  • Authors must include a dedicated "AI and Machine-Assisted Technologies Statement" in the manuscript acknowledgements or methods section.
  • The statement must identify the specific tool used, model version, and the exact scope of its application.
  • Human authors remain fully responsible for the factual accuracy of all generated statements, citations, and mathematical formulas.

3. Reviewer Prohibition

Peer reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts into public generative AI engines or external cloud models, as this breaches author confidentiality and copyright protections.
